How many of you created beautiful nurseries for your little ones…

…then ended up co-sleeping?! 🙋🏻🙈

Even though London has NEVER slept in this room, this little sanctuary means SO much to me. Here’s why…

For the first 8ish years of my life, I didn’t have a room.

And I don’t mean that I didn’t have my “own” room.
I literally didn’t have A room. I stayed in my dad’s room in my great-grandparents’ house.

Then my family converted the attic in that house into my very own room!

I remember picking out the pink paint and bright bedspread and being so excited for my very own space! I loved that room, even in the HOT summers with NO air conditioning! 🔥

As a child and teen, I spent a lot of time in that attic room, envisioning my future family and home. I was determined to CREATE the life and family I saw others enjoy…and I always knew I’d do it. ✨

So as I sit here today, in my daughter’s perfect room, I can’t help but be thankful.

I feel like I’ve made it! Haha! As silly as that sounds.

I get to be at home with my daughter, decorate a room she doesn’t even sleep in, take her on trips around the world AND be the career woman I always told myself I’d be!

That little girl inside me who spent years dreaming of this moment is smiling. And now, more than ever, I am determined to press forward and achieve what many thought I would never achieve.

I come from humble beginnings but I know God is leading me and my little family to somewhere bigger and better. I turned my trials into triumphs and I know I’ve been given this platform to show others that they CAN break the chains and make their dreams a reality.

I share this story because I know there is someone out there dreaming of a better future, but perhaps they feel confined by their past. Maybe they are settling for what life has given them and deciding to give up on their childhood dreams.

I refuse to settle for mediocrity. I refuse to settle for average. I refuse to settle for anything less than what I dreamt of as a child. And you should refuse to settle too.

So ladies, find your inner dreamer. Take action. Believe you are worthy and capable. And most importantly, don’t settle.
